To register a trademark in Panama, you will need to follow these steps:

1. Conduct a trademark search: Before you begin the registration process, it’s important to conduct a search to ensure that your proposed trademark is not already in use by someone else.
2. File an application: Once we have determined that your proposed trademark is available, we can file an application with the Panamanian Industrial Property Office (Dirección General de la Propiedad Industrial or DIGEPI).
3. Provide a specimen of use: To complete your application, you will need to provide a specimen of use of your trademark, such as a label or photograph of your product or service. Our consultants will contact you if it is required.
4. Pay the fee: You will need to pay the fee associated with filing a trademark application. The fee varies depending on the type of application and the number of classes of goods or services.
5. Wait for your trademark to be registered: Once your application is approved, your trademark will be registered.
6. Renewal: Trademarks in Panama have a 10-year term from the date of grant, renewal applications have to be filed before the expiration of the trademark in order to maintain its validity.
